As part of the event organized by Antonio Tajani “Italy and the Europe we want” held in Viterbo from 20 to 22 September, the “Africa: a challenge for all of us” panel took place.
Present at the panel Giovanni Ottati, President of Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo and CEO of Vuetelia, Stefania Craxi Vice President of the Foreign Affairs Committee at the Senate, Boubacar Wargo, Minister Counselor to the Presidency of the Republic of Niger responsible for investments and Prof. Mario Molteni of the University Catholic of the Sacred Heart of Milan.
Giovanni Ottati reported the lack of an industrial vision of Africa in Italy: “My company is the only Italian company present in Niger. This presence is not linked to the relations between the Italian and African markets, but to relations between Libya and Niger. More than 400,000 Nigerians live in Libya who are in constant contact with their families and my telecommunications company guarantees communications. How can we understand these relationships by staying in Italy? We need to be in the area and get to know the relationships between the countries ”
